Science Bulletin Week Beginning 24th November
New Resources
New resources have arrived. These include the new Boardworks for GCSE, KS3 and A level, Nelson Thornes E-science for core, testbase, KS3 HSW and concept cartoon discs.
Pupil Voice
These need to be passed back to AMH asap. So far I have had two sets.
KS3
This week it is year 8 SC1 week and year 9’s should be starting rotation 3.
KS4
ISA week this week for year 10, NW will be providing details on standardising and marking of these.
Year 11 mock NW will be providing information on marking and grading + deadlines for this.

The Agenda for the Science Departmental meeting is given below.Â
Most of this meeting and INSET time will be devoted to the new KS3 curriculum, resource update and scheme of work development. Please bring along your laptop if you would like to load the resources available onto it. If we can all meet in room 49 at 3.40 we can go through the agenda below fairly quickly before Amy and Hena talk us through the new resources available and how they can be used to help write the new schemes. After this we have until 5-30 to work on our allocated sections or, if already competed, update them using feedback from HC and the new resources.

Science Bulletin 15th September  Departmental Meetings
23rd September is 2 hours, this meeting will be mainly used to look at the new KS3 curriculum resources and spend time preparing SoW. If you have a laptop can you bring it to the meeting so that the new resources can be uploaded to your computer. Could you also bring the SoW material you have been developing. The meeting will be held in room 49.
Meeting on the 30th Sept will be mainly about preparing for open evening. Each area will need to decided what equipment and resources they need for open evening. Time can also be spent putting up displays. Attached is a copy of the allocated display boards, you will also be getting a paper copy in your pigeon holes and in prep rooms.
Timetable
Please can everyone check that the rooms and classes are correct on their timetable. Any issues can TW be told straight away.
Enterprise Day
This is Wednesday 12th November all Science staff will be involved as Science has been asked to put on an event for all of year 8. This will be the Mars Lander activity we did 2 years ago. Time will be spent preparing for this during the department meeting on the 14th Oct.
Science Clubs
Science clubs are held at both sites on a Monday lunch time. All years can go to club at the building they are in that day. Please can you all mention the Science clubs to all your classes.

Science Week
HC will be running a trip to Chester Zoo for year 7. If you have any other ideas especially for events that we can run in school please see AMH.
